When I joined Wipro Technologies I saw an opportunity to combine my 25 years of oilfield experience with data mining techniques developed by Wipro to formulate a process to efficiently analyze a wide range of data types and quickly identify high potential workover candidates. My experience with Schlumberger’s Production Enhancement Group and the identification of accelerators to speed up the analysis process led to the development of STEP UP - Science & Technology to Enhance Production from Under-Performing Fields.

The STEP UP process utilizes advanced software accelerators and stand-alone computer analysis techniques to significantly reduce the time required to perform a detailed field assessment. Once this assessment is complete, a team of experts focus their attention on the highest potential workover candidates and apply a series of standard or enhanced workover procedures to increase the overall field’s production.
